Tips on trainners is an important one, as the type of footwear you have can have great affect on your free running. The best types of trainner are shock absorbent, light and have full foot sole at the bottom of the shoe, as if you have strips the sole tends to come off. The grip can not be to soft either as it will wear down easy cross trainners are good we also find the new adidas are quite good. We also tend to put shock absorbent inner soles in our shoe as well.
   
Tip on clothing
The best clothing to wear is something that is comfortable and that allows u to move freely. Jeans are a bit restricting; we find lightweight tracky bottoms are ideal. You will over heat so probably best too wear layers on them cold days but when in full flow a vest or t shirt is normally enough. Its best not wear a hoody as it can get in the way for some moves. We also like to wear a sweatband for when it does get hot. Parkour can put the body under a lot of stress and u may want to use protective equipment like fingerless gloves, knee pads, elbow pads and shin pads I like to wear shin pads sometimes when training this allows me to try tricks I have done before, mostly gaps as if it goes wrong this can really hurt. If your just starting out it probably best to wear some of these protective items as injuries only mean less free runnin time. |
